Welcome to my blog about, well, I’m not really sure. It will be about me, obviously, but it will also be about current events, society, politics, humanity and really anything affecting the world today. The thing that will make this blog different to the others is that I am a White British Muslim.

I was born and raised a non-believing Christian in a small and overwhelmingly white working-class English town, I lost any faith I had before I went to secondary school, and I converted to Islam just a few years ago in my late twenties. All of that is a story in itself, but for now it is enough to say that my life experiences allow me to see things from two very different points of view, which I hope will make for interesting reading.

You should be aware that I am not an Islamic scholar; in fact, my understanding of Islam is limited. This means that I will be controversial and I will offend at times, but this will through accident or ignorance – if I want to offend, you will know about it. Also, some of the things I claim about Islam may not actually be true, but I will try my best to be as accurate as possible. Please be patient with me, I know I have much to learn, and I hope that together we can make the world a better place.
